Red Bloom - Algues maudites - 18.09.26-15.10.26

FLOW presents the exhibition Red Bloom – Algues maudites by Alice Pallot in the Orangerie of the Jardin des Plantes in Montpellier.

This project marks the first off-site event of the FLOW programme and, through a concrete artistic proposal, reaffirms the commitments at its core: bringing contemporary creation into dialogue with environmental issues, heritage and local territories, while opening up new spaces for reflection and engagement with audiences.

Through the series Algues maudites, presented by Hangar at Paris Photo 2024, Alice Pallot turns her attention to transformations in the living world and the disruptions affecting marine ecosystems in the Côtes-d’Armor, a region severely impacted by the proliferation of green algae caused by runoff from intensive agriculture. Her work explores the complex relationships between human activities, environmental disruption and the capacity of ecosystems to transform.
