Matthieu Litt is one of the 12 shortlisted artists for the Prix de la Photographie held in Clervaux, Luxembourg, with his series Terra Nullius.
For this series, Matthieu Litt boarded a scientific expedition navigating through the Arctic pole, once a 'Terra Nullius' where explorators could claim virgin frozen lands, and which is now facing the fastest warming of temperatures around the globe. His medium format analog multi-exposures blend accident and poetry, creating serene yet uncanny visions of a lost paradise.
The Prix de la Photographie – Clervaux Cité de l’image was created in 2021 , in collaboration with the Cercle Artistique de Luxembourg (CAL) and the Centre National de l'Audiovisuel (CNA) to raise the visibility and profile of photographic art in Luxembourg and is awarded every two years. It recognises contemporary photographers whose work stands out for its artistic quality, rigorous research, innovation, and originality.
The prize includes two awards: a Jury Prize of €10,000 and a Public Prize of €2,500.
Opening : Saturday, June 27 2026 at 6 pm, at the Brahaus, 9 Montée du Château
in Clervaux, Luxembourg
The shortlisted artists will then be exhibited from June 28 to August 30.
